The Key Laboratory of Neutronics and Radiation Safety, Chinese Academy of Sciences, hereinafter referred to as“the Laboratory”, was established in August 2014, and is supported by Institute of Nuclear Energy Safety Technology, CAS.
The Laboratory Open Fund Project aims to initiate and foster the establishment of channels for high-level academic and research exchange between researchers of the Laboratory and the scientists at home and abroad. This will help broadening the research opportunities and promote the development of the Laboratory.
In 2017,the Laboratory Open Fund will focus on the aspect of "nuclear energy software validation and application". Applicants should apply for topics about the validation and application of SuperMC (Super Monte Carlo Program for Nuclear and Radiation Simulation). The eligible areas of funding include the third-party independent evaluation and engineering application research for SuperMC in reactor physics, radiation shielding, medical physics and so on. To conclude the project, the applicant should submit a validation report or an application report to the Laboratory, and publish at least one SCI academic article.
The support amount of each project is 50 thousand to 100 thousand RMB, and the research period is generally not more than one year. The Laboratory will begin to accept applications since September 20, 2017 and the deadline is 16:00 pm, October 30, 2017. The outcome of the approved applications will be announced on November 30, 2017. The summary report of approved projects should be submitted to the Laboratory before 16:00 pm November 30, 2018.
Applicants are kindly requested to read the attachment "Guidelines for 2017 Open Fund Project Application of the Key Laboratory of Neutronics and Radiation Safety CAS" and submit the application form in accordance with the guidelines.
