Liquid Metal Loop and Material Technology Laboratory

* Introduction

  The liquid metal loops and material technology laboratory mainly focuses on the R&D of liquid metal related technologies and structural materials development for advanced nuclear reactor. The laboratory has a series of facilities on materials of advanced reactors, which covers the research of material preparation and processing, material normal properties evaluation and service performance in liquid metals condition. Furthermore, the laboratory has its own principle verification devices for liquid metal technologies, key components and non-nuclear technologies, mainly including lead-based engineering validation reactor CLEAR-S, validation device of control rod drive mechanism and in-vessel fuel handling system, and simulator for China Lead-Based Reactor, etc. The laboratory has a total area of 15000 m2 and fixed assets valued at 500 million RMB.
