INEST Launched 1st Asia-Pacific Young Practioners' PRA Forum

During November 3nd to 4th, 2015, the 1st Asia-Pacific Young Practioners' PRA Forum launched by the Institute of Nuclear Energy Safety Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences together with Curtiss-Wright Corporation from the Unite States of America, University of California, Tokyo University, Institute of Nuclear Energy Research of Taiwan and Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) has been held successfully in Hefei Science Island. More than 60 experts and scholars from about 40 international departments including nuclear safety regulators, nuclear power groups, well-known research institutions and safety consulting firms have attended the conference.


The probabilistic risk assessment (PRA) Forum aims to establish an open communication platform for researchers and engineers in the field of PRA for the world's nuclear power plants. In the form of keynote reports and thematic discussions, the delegates have given reports on the advanced design concept, safe operation and evaluation technology and other hot issues and cutting-edge research of related fields, discussed problems such as nuclear energy sustainable development and enhancement of nuclear safety exchange and technological innovation through international cooperation, and given proposals and advices on the development of nuclear power, perfection of nuclear safety standards and nuclear safety assessment methods and training of nuclear safety top level in different countries.
