2014 Executive Committee Meeting of International Energy Agency Implementing Agreement on a Co-operative Programme on ESEFP Hosted by INEST·FDS Team

2014 Executive Committee (ExCo) Meeting of International Energy Agency (IEA) Implementing Agreement (IA) on a Co-operative Programme on Environmental Safety and Economic Aspects of Fusion Power (ESEFP) was hosted by INEST∙FDS Team on 1st Oct 2014 in San Sebastian, Spain.

Prof. Yican Wu, the leader of FDS Team and the director of INEST, opened the meeting as the Executive Committee Chair by welcoming the IEA secretariat, committee members and invited participants from China, Europe, USA, Japan, Korea, etc. Moreover, ExCo Chair of the IEA Implementing Agreement on Nuclear Technology of Fusion Reactors (NTFR), and Secretary of ExCo Chair of the IEA Implementing Agreement on Fusion Materials (FM) were also in attendance. Prof. Wu gave a brief introduction of ESEFP IA activities, including the changes of task coordinators and participants, formation of RAMI (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and Inspectability) committee, summary of task and national meetings, ESEFP IA input to IEA ETI publication, etc. Then each task coordinator presented the progress and plan of each task, as well as the RAMI Committee Chair. Proposals were discussed and voted at last regarding the foundation of ESEFP website, the creation of International Workshop on ESEFP, and the submittal of ESEFP report to IEA.

INEST∙FDS Team representing People’s Republic of China joined the ESEFP IA in 2011, and Prof. Wu was unanimously selected as the ExCo Chair in 2013.
