The 12th International Workshop on Accelerator Driven System and Nuclear Transmutation Technology (ADS-NTT 2014) was hosted by Institute of Nuclear Energy Safety Technology（INEST）, CAS∙FDS Team on 14th ~ 16th Dec. 2014 in Science Island, Hefei, China.

Prof. Yican Wu, the leader of FDS Team and the director of INEST, opened the workshop as the Chinese Co-Chair of Accelerator-Driven System (ADS) Asian Network Organizing Committee by welcoming the invited participants from China, Japan and Korea. Moreover, Dr. Toshinobu Sasa from Japanese Atomic Energy Agency(JAEA) on behalf of Dr. Kazufumi Tsujimoto (Japanese Co-Chair of Organizing Committee) and Prof. Seung-Woo Hong from Sungkyunkwan University on behalf of Prof. Il Soon Hwang (Korean Co-Chair of Organizing Committee) were also in attendance and gave an opening address. Prof. Wu gave report on Strategy and Progress of ADS Project in China, and Dr. Sasa and Prof. Hong also gave an introduction of ADS and Transmutation Research in Japan and Korea. Then the participates from three countries presented the detailed research on ADS including reactor, accelerator, targets as well as related software and materials. Finally, a resolution was formed that the ADS Asian Network will hold general meeting every two years and topic meeting between general meetings. A topic meeting on Lead-Bismuth related Research was proposed to be held next year in Japan.

During the meeting, the participants visited Liquid Heavy Metal Loops and Materials Technology Laboratory and Nuclear and Radiation Safety Simulation Laboratory of INEST•FDS Team. Moreover, a series of potential technique cooperation proposals was discussed in the meeting. The success of this meeting enhanced the international collaborative research in the field of ADS.
