Advanced Reactor Simulation Platform Promoting Design Process Innovation of New Reactors

A scientific and technological evaluation for “Advanced simulation platform for China lead based research reactor interactive design and verification” developed by Institute of Nuclear Energy Safety TechnologyChinese Academy of Sciences (CAS)·FDS Team has been held by Anhui Provincial Science and Technology Department in Hefei, Nov. 3rd, 2015.

Academicians and experts from China National Nuclear Corporation, Institute of High Energy Physics of CAS, University of Science and Technology of China, the China State Shipbuilding Corporation, Kobe University, North China Electric Power University, Institute of Intelligent Machines of CAS , etc. attended the evaluation meeting. A common understanding has been reached that ”The advanced simulation platform for China lead based research reactor interactive design and verification promotes the design process innovation of new reactors, and achieves the international advanced level. Meanwhile, the automation is better than the similar devices”.

Based on digital design, the platform with the interactive simulation technology integrated in can test the self-consistency of the transient coupling between different subsystems in the reactor conceptual design, which will avoid serious losses caused by the dynamic coupling failure in engineering design and construction. At the same time, the platform has provided the simulation and verification service for GSE company which is the world's largest nuclear power plant simulation machine supplier, and made a contribution to the simulation and verification on the digital monitoring system’s configuration software of C3&C4 units in Kundian nuclear power plant, which is the Chinese exporting commercial nuclear power project.

The platform will actively promote the development of advanced nuclear energy systems, such as China lead based reactor and so on.
