During November 3nd to 4th, 2015, the 1st Asia-Pacific Young Practioners' PRA Forum launched by the Institute of Nuclear Energy Safety Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences•FDS Team (hereinafter referred to as "FDS Team") together with Curtiss-Wright Corporation from the Unite States of America, University of California, Tokyo University, Institute of Nuclear Energy Research of Taiwan and Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) has been held successfully in Hefei Science Island. More than 60 experts and scholars from about 40 international departments including nuclear safety regulators, nuclear power groups, well-known research institutions and safety consulting firms have attended the conference. In particular, FDS Team serves as chairman unit of this forum. The probabilistic risk assessment (PRA) Forum aims to establish an open communication platform for researchers and engineers in the field of PRA for the world's nuclear power plants. In the form of keynote reports and thematic discussions, the delegates have given reports on the advanced design concept, safe operation and evaluation technology and other hot issues and cutting-edge research of related fields, discussed problems such as nuclear energy sustainable development and enhancement of nuclear safety exchange and technological innovation through international cooperation, and given proposals and advices on the development of nuclear power, perfection of nuclear safety standards and nuclear safety assessment methods and training of nuclear safety top level in different countries. During the seminar, FDS Team has released Reliability and Probabilistic Safety Assessment Software System RiskA4.0 both in Chinese and English to domestic and international users. RiskA is an evolving integrated reliability and probabilistic safety assessment software system developed by FDS Team, which aims at modeling and analysis for large or complex systems while providing many other advanced features and functions. It has been implicated in areas of nuclear energy, aerospace, electronics and defense etc., including applications in the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER), China LEAd-based research Reactor (CLEAR), FDS series advanced reactors, Third Qinshan Nuclear Power Plant Risk Monitor (TQRM), National Mega-projects of Science and Engineering (EAST) and Laser Radar System. RiskA has earned many high evaluations from relevant field well-known experts of China, including the assessing of TQRM as "the first fully independent intellectual property rights system, reached the international advanced level" by China Nuclear Energy Association, and reviewing of RiskA computing engine as "at the international advanced level". At present, RiskA has been widely applied in more than 300 organizations and institutions from a variety of fields in 22 countries. Photo of All Participants (Imaged by YUAN Run)
