Anhui Provincial Technical Support Center for Nuclear Emergency (APTSC) was established based on Institute of Nuclear Energy Safety Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS)•FDS Team(hereinafter referred to as "FDS Team") on Oct. 26, 2015. And at the same time, the first academic symposium of APTSC was held. Over 30 people from the Office of Scientific & Technological Industry of National Defense in Anhui Province (AOSTIND), University of Science and Technology of China, and Hefei University of Technology, etc. participated in the symposium. ZHENG Chao, the chief engineer of AOSTIND, and LIU Jianguo, Vice Director of Hefei Institutes of Physical Science, CAS unveiled the plaque for the center in company. In order to adapt the new situation of fast development of nuclear energy,depending on FDS Team, AOSTIND proposed and set up APTSC, according to the requirements of “National Nuclear Emergency ‘Twelfth Five Year’ Plan” and “National Nuclear Emergency Plan”. APTSC is the first provincial technical support center for nuclear emergency in China, and it would make a great effort to explore a national situation-based development road of provincial technical support center for nuclear emergency after it being established. Relying on a number of nuclear emergency related projects including CAS Strategic Priority Research Program (ADS) and International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER), APTSC has formed a professional nuclear emergency technology research team with global vision. Provincial nuclear emergency organization is an important part in three-level national nuclear emergency management system, and its abilities directly affect the quality of national nuclear emergency response capabilities. As the provincial technical support center for nuclear emergency, APTSC will energetically promote Anhui nuclear emergency response capabilities.
